Independence Day...Are we really Independent??

Independence Day...Are we really Independent??

we are celebrating 15th August as our Independence Day because our country became independent on 15th August 1947 from European countries.

If you had read my above paragraph carefully then you would have understood why i had titled this blog  so, if not then read it again.

In the first paragraph I had written that our country became independent on 15th August 1947, yes on world map we got our own entity, what I am asking you are, are we really independent? as a citizen of our country.

In my opinion as citizen of India we became politically independent we had ended our politically slavery but what about our thoughts?

How are we still dependent on foreign even after 72 years of country's independence still we are slaves of European countries in every walk of life we are copying European countries we are following them many people following foreign languages, culture, fashion, clothes, food, education.
We are forgetting our own culture our language our clothes our festivals local and Hindi medium school are decreasing day by day because we are following and feeling pride to take admission of our children's in English Medium School at home, office and school colleges we feel shy to talk in local or in Hindi language and feeling pride to talk in English the child who don’t know English is treated of inferior level by teachers and its friends.

We are following foreign culture love new year eve Christmas, how many of Indian knows when does our Hindu new year start? if by chance we know than how many of us celebrate that Hindu New Year like we are celebrating 31st December. we feel proud to wear foreign clothes like tie, full suit, jeans T-shirts but our own traditional clothes dhoti, kurta, saree is disappearing how many boys knows how to wear dhoti and how many girls knows how to wear saree??

Day by day Import of our country is increasing in ratio of export, that means we are proud to buy imported goods and reject our own countries original products that is why pure Indian companies had being taken over by multinational companies or they are wound up. Eagerly looking for a chance to work in foreign countries what type of work or job it may be. All of above example show that we are still slaves by our mind Giving more respect to each and every foreign thing as compared to our own.

Now comes a questions how will we be really independent?

I am not against foreign goods and culture because in today's international trade scenario it is not possible to be isolated from world, what I want to say that we should not forget our language culture tradition our motherland for which our great leader sacrificed their life. This is not the country that they had expected. Even our national father Mahatma Gandhi also forced to follow"Swadeshi"means homemade goods.

when every Indian feel proud to talk in Hindi instead of English, if we will feel proud to wear Indian clothes, will follow our own culture, will celebrate our own New Year then we will in real sense will respect our motherland, not by just keeping holiday on Independence Day saluting the tri colour distributing sweet will not make us great in world.

One can become great by following one’s own principles and traditions. when every Indian will follow Indian Ethics, Culture, traditions and feel proud then only in real sense India will become independent politically and every Indian will be also psychologically free, till then we are only political free that is why I headed this article as "are we really independent??"
